Authentic Movement

The Authentic Self is the soul made visible

Authentic Movement

Are you looking for a deep, embodied, ongoing practice to support your healing journey? Feeling the need to retrieve your soul’s purpose?

In early human history, disease was seen as a loss of soul and dance was an intrinsic part of the healing ritual.

Authentic Movement has its roots in healing dances, dance movement therapy, depth psychology and active imagination as identified by Carl Jung.

The purpose of authentic movement is to facilitate your healing, growth and change.

In the Authentic Movement process, a mover is held in the gaze of a supportive witness. In this space, the mover is safe to drop into the realm of being beyond thoughts. By listening, feeling and following impulses to move, the body starts to release tensions and the mover can open to dimensions of being where wisdom, understanding and insights can inform and enrich everyday life.

Authentic Movement is offered in an 7 week block for a committed group who will meet once a week, online Thursdays 7.00pm (Melbourne Time). Participants must be prepared, within reason, to show up to every session and keep a journal of dreams and insights as they arise during the week.

In order to best prepare for the Authentic Movement sessions, create a space where you will have enough room to move and ensure that you will be undisturbed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and have some writing/drawing materials at hand.

Groups are created when there is enough expression of interest. Call to add your name to an upcoming group. Or organize individual sessions.
